The History of

Fieldstown Volunteers

The Fieldstown Volunteers agency was established in July of 2016 after two previous organizations, North Alabama Volunteers and Cluster Springs Volunteer Rescue Squad, combined resources to improve operations and logistics. North Alabama Volunteers was established in August of 2014 while Cluster Springs was established in July of 2011. North Alabama Volunteers operated as a disaster/storm response, storm spotting, and chainsaw relief team. Cluster Springs operated as a Rescue, First Aid,  and search & rescue squad. The two organizations had previously been working together through a mutual aid agreement. In May of 2016, officers from both agencies discussed the possibility and benefits of combining to form a single, all hazard, emergency response team. The new agency was renamed to Fieldstown Volunteers Station 25. The official combining of the two agencies went into effect on July 13th, 2016. In November 2016, Fieldstown Volunteers became a BSA Venture Crew and took on the new name of Fieldstown Volunteers Crew 100, replacing Station 25. Today, Fieldstown Volunteers operates out of one station with future plans to expand and open a second building located on the west side of the coverage area.
